The church from the city lookout ...Absolutely enormous, but there is still more to be built including larger spires!
I am sitting here in our hotel lobby on the last of 3 nights in Barcelona .....
This trip certainly seems to be flying so far!!! (not that I am complaining of course .... after all it is one day closer to Greece! Where I get to see my boy again! .... and another day closer to getting home to see my girl again!) .... Even though this a great adventure and I am loving every minute of it ... I dont enjoy being away from home and the people I care about..... If I could have them on the trip too it would be perfect! I do miss them!
The group we are travelling with is fantastic! .... Have met some lovely people (group is made up of 75% Aussies, 24% kiwi and 1% Irish!) .... Also a nice mix of age's which seems to work well. I did think we were mostly Australian on the tour but more kiwis keep popping up out of the woodwork! Bloody kiwi's ... we are everywhere! lol
Barcelona (the city of thieves as it is known ....due to it's high volume of pick pockets) is an interesting place! There is a lot of history here mostly related to a very well known architect who has works throughout the city called Antonio Gaudi. The most famous being a church that was commenced 120 years ago which they are still building! (plans for finishing in 2026). Now there are some lovely churches around .... but this is something else! you can see it from the Barcelona city lookout clearer than a skyscraper ... quite amazing!!
We have done a few things while here ..... obviously lots of sightseeing! Managed a 5 hour bike tour which was awesome! Best way to get around a busy city (although a bit scary on the roads with the crazy spanish drivers!). Have also shopped and procured some great bargains! (Spain is definitely the best for shopping so far!). Have eaten Tapas and tried Sangria (the local concoction of red wine, lemonade, fruit and ice I think?) tastes alright .... and your bike goes faster and handles better aroud corners after a few on the beach in the Barcelona sun! lol
Tomorrow we are off to Avignon! (The south of France) .... Such a terrible existence I lead really! Wonder what we will do there?? Eat cheese and drink wine perhaps? Actually I think we are visiting a french perfumerie where you can design your own signature perfume! So wish I was at work really!! Hi Girls!! lol

p.s. The weather is terrible .....at least 30c every day (even got sunburnt yesterday!) ;-)
